Volunteering for Pickford Film Center
Pickford Film Center uses volunteers regularly to bring the show to our audience. We are proud to have a vibrant and creative group of film lovers that are willing to help us out. Volunteers provide a key service to PFC helping present the best possible film experience in Bellingham. PFC thanks its volunteers for showing such dedication to the theatre and keeping it running and in good order.
“I love film and I love Pickford Film Center - how do I become a volunteer?”
PFC has many varying needs for volunteers, but for the most part we need people to come down to the Pickford Cinema (our current space at 1416 Cornwall) and work about one hour with us. A shift involves cleaning the auditorium, selling concessions, and finally some light cleaning after the film begins (a food handler’s permit is encouraged but not mandatory). The tasks performed involve stooping, sweeping, wiping counters, money handling, and operating a popcorn machine. For each shift you work we provide a pass for you to come back and enjoy a film on us. Save up two and bring a date.

Volunteer Testimonials
"We are a family that loves movies, and enjoys bringing them to our community. In contrast to large commercial theaters, friendship outweighs money. And without the Pickford, we would miss out on many locally produced films and a wonderful selection of foreign films. It is true that we get the future we make; I am glad to be a part of this project."
- Yoshe Revelle
“As a Pickford Film Center member, I know that thoughtful and award-winning films will be available to the Bellingham community. With sci-fi, opera and encouraging young film makers, the Pickford continues to establish a special niche in the arts and commerce of Bellingham."
- Jo Pullen
"As an active volunteer for the Pickford going on three years, I find I'm always inspired by the eclectic, enlightening films, the energy of the staff and the provocative nature of independent media. I'm a firm believer that Bellingham profoundly needs PFC to act as the voice of truth, creativity and awareness in the living world."
